"Smash it". Used in place of "do really well", "succeed" or "excel", by every contestant on every TV competition when describing how they hope to perform.

This seems like the right place for this. What is up with this woman's pronunciation of this word? Is this a thing?

I think that's Nigella taking the mick out of Nigella. Fair play to her. It's a mickro-wahvay in our house from henceforth.

And what about how the judges all say the same darn thing: "You made it your own." I hate that.

I liked old Len on Strictly, but God he was repetitive.

"You came out there ... "

"And you gave it your all."

Every. Bloody. Contestant.

Has 'gig' been mentioned yet? I've always found it a bit annoying, bordering on embarrassing. I think i first heard it on The Old Grey Whistle Test in the early 1970's,when 'whispering' Bob Harris used it. Over the years i've got more used to it and accepted it,but only when referring to a 'music concert'.🧐 I've heard the word used to describe any event now. I even heard a vicar on the local radio refer to doing the service at a wedding as a 'gig'! 🧐

I'm an old fashioned/conservative type,so i refuse to use the word 'guys',preferring to say blokes or chaps(British),especially since 'guys'(American) is now used to refer to females as well as males.🧐

She's probably pissed again from all of those times she tells us how she ljkes to sneak downstairs for a midnight 'snack'.. I'll have to try using that one myself. "Just popping down to the pub for a snack darling" 🥳
