Glasgow Uni was widely used when I was a student many years ago.

Yes, we talked about 'going back to Uni' in the early 70s. It's not a new thing.

Depress.

As in depress the button. I always thought you press a button unless you want to stop it being pressed then you could possibly does it but that still sounds weird.

It's a bit like the fire alarm going off (doesn't it come so you have to switch it off or does it go off so you have to put it on to stop it from sounding?).

Rather like 'overbalancing'

Shouldn't it be 'underbalancing'

He did. Apparently it's not just grey seals that are iconic, Bodmin moor is too. Who knew.

Ha 'Bodmin Moor' 'iconic'
He's being ironic yes??

I mean it's nice enough if the sun's out (it never is) but come on - it's really just something you have to get past, to reach Cornwall..

Incidentally.
I'm scraping the barrel now,but it's slightly annoying to me.

Edit..It reminds me of the 'DJ' Tony Blackburn in the 1970's. Such a cheesy nobber he was.... and probably still is!😒

"exponential" when used to refer to a rate of increase which has a higher index (current use 'R' @ 1.6 say) but not a lower one eg 1.1. "The spread of the virus is increasing exponentially" - nss. Will we hear: ""The spread of the virus is decaying exponentially"? I rather doubt it.
On the plus side, my savings in one of my bank accounts (paying 0.1%) are increasing exponentially.
