Obviously an Aubergine
The word “foodie” gets right up my hooter.

When someone says “I’m a foodie” They then feel the need to bore you to death on how clever they are are in recreating the complete Le Gavroche menu at home.

I'd overlook the slight annoyance if I got to eat the results, though

That’s a good point, but would the smugness of the “foodie” chef be worth it?

Well that would depend on their talents I spose - I'd be willing to risk it for research purposes.

But generally yes, outré food pretensions are all too easy to lampoon.

Not just a word,more a phrase,but it's the 'heartbeat' that annoys me.
I've just been looking at an online dog rescue site. Regarding a dog up for adoption someone posted 'I'd have him in a heartbeat'!
How wussy is that, especially when a male posts/says it! It's all about showing emotion these days. Maybe too much?😒

Nice try, but you’ve shown us many times how emotionally attached you are to Jake. And a good thing it is, too. :okay:

Depress.

As in depress the button. I always thought you press a button unless you want to stop it being pressed then you could possibly does it but that still sounds weird.

It's a bit like the fire alarm going off (doesn't it come so you have to switch it off or does it go off so you have to put it on to stop it from sounding?).
