Is it my imagination or have we had an increase in single letter guessing games lately? I wonder if there has been a change in editorial policy?

This interview with Tracy Bennett, Wordle Editor, says that she actively weeds out words with this kind of problem. I wonder if she's relaxed her rules. (Or if someone else is doing it now)

I also run through letters, so if you have a word that has very common letters, and you have four letters in place — like, for example, blank-o-u-n-d. That fifth letter — found, mound, round, sound — there’s like eight of them, I think. There are only six guesses so even if you have already figured out four correct letters, you still have more letters to guess than there are. So, that’s based on luck, rather than deduction.
_ROWN is not as extreme as _OUND but all the same, it's not the most sporting of choices.
