Which EV would you get?

As the end of my lease nears, I have been thinking about what to go for next. I'm not that keen on the ID4 again as the tech is pretty crap as are the facilities compared to rivals.
Up until recently I've always coveted a Tesla Y (can't afford an X).

So - which is the best EV in terms of tech and equipment now that Tesla are about to fall off a cliff?
What would you go for (bearing in mind I'm looking at a medium range family car, not a runaround)?

I quite like the look of the Ioniq 5 but I'm not sure what bells and whistles come with it. I did look at the Polestar but the version I can afford has terrible rear doors.

One of the reasons I've stayed away from the ICE VW's plus the Fords sharing the same software interface - same issues with the electric ones. There aren't enough buttons. Heating should be buttons, not a screen, nor should it be a 'touch panel'.

Unfortunately Skoda etc fall into that stupid heating controls (or have they changed it yet).

If we were to get an EV, I'd look at a run about like the Dacia Spring.

I think Polestars look great and are well reviewed. I wouldn't touch TESLA, mainly that the 'boss' is a 'nobber'. Can't go far wrong with Hyundai

All improved for the 25 MY VW group cars, my Born has the latest infotainment and it’s loads better, the heater and volume controls are now at the bottom the screen so much more intuitive to use, and they seem to have fixed the lag which plagued the earlier cars.

The benefit of the RWD MEB platform is that they drive really well.

I'm off the Enyak because they are still selling it the old fashioned way with 300 different service packs. Skoda have learned nothing it seems. The ID4 software and equipment is sub par for the cost of the vehicle.

I like the look of the Kia EV6 (EV3 is too small) but not sure about the touchscreens. BMW iX1 is too small plus it's a BMW which puts me off. Polestar 4 is another one I'd test drive although it's a bit pricey.

I like my ioniq 5. But definitely hasn’t got the driver aids that a Tesla has.
The lack of rear wiper annoying. I think the 2025 model has one now.
As you know the EV6 and the ioniq 5 are basically the same car in different clothes.

The point of this thread is to see what EVs people think are next best, and what they would choose.
Ioniq5 or Polestar4 are probably my leaders at present. It would be interesting to see what BYD have on the table though.

So, if you buy a Tesla Y, there are no packs. No entertainment pack, no tech pack, no comfort pack etc. You pretty much choose whether you want log range, or all wheel drive and that's it other than paying for autopilot upgrade to full self drive.

When I went to look at the Enyaq two or three years ago you start with a 40k baseline but then had to addon different packages for tech, heated seats etc. I see from the recent builder that they have now reduced it to two additional packages, so Enyaq is back on my list, but it's the same car as the ID4 with different make up on. I don't know if the software is any better.

I understand now, Volvo were a bit like that, the basic spec was really good, to get that spec on a BMW or Audi you had to spend a further £10k!
