105 is basically last generation Ultegra anyway thanks to the trickle down effect, nowt wrong at all with it, good choice

think the new tiagra mech is the same as 105 also.

Nope, it works perfectly fine. 4000 miles has told me so.

My old 9 speed tiagra that shimano say cant run a 30T, runs a 30T
My current 105 that shimano say cant run a 30T, runs a 30T
My Ultegra Di2 that Shimano say has an absolute max of 28T, runs.......a 30T

The new 6800 Ultegra run to 32 Teeth no problems.

you just have a very low geared one and just go a tad slower on the flats!
