I walked up some steps in a public building yesterday - I looked where I was putting my feet, as you do with unfamiliar steps to gauge the tread depth.

I then lifted my eyes to see where I was going, particularly as they were relatively steep.

Suffice to say, and within the context of this thread, I can only assume that the lady in front of me with the very short, flappy skirt, can only have lost her entire underwear draw before coming out...

Mrs P was with me and didn't even call me a perv, 'cos she go an eyeful too.

Well? Did you find the old one?
Found it!!
I am currently cycling *The Way of the Roses* and stopped at a campsite in Austwick. Carried my small tent complete with new groundsheet. Unrolled tent and guess what was inside..... It wasn't the same tent I used last trip as it is now in a skip. I have no clue why I put it there. So now have to carry 2 groundsheets for 170 miles. What a nobber.

Can you post one home?
Or leave one in a charity shop, does one need 2 groundsheets?
I don't camp, so haven't got a clue!

My best one, mentioned on here before, was stopping at services on the motorway, crossing the bridge to buy a sarnie and then looking for my car in the car park on that side of the motorway. Took a good five minutes of panic ('some bastard's nicked my car!') before I realised that it was still where I left it, on the other side...

Once at Birmingham New Street, I bought something to eat in a shop and then promptly went to catch my train.

It was only when I was on the train that I realised I had forgotten what I had bought, so had to run back up to the shop, get it from the bemused shop assistant (who told me it happened all the time) and then run back down to catch my train just at the last moment

It was only a train to Coventry and I wasn't in a hurry, but still.
@Brandane The big question is why don't you have a sewn-in groundsheet? All tents have sewn-in ground sheets nowadays!
They do, but I read somewhere that the extra (and better quality) groundsheet would help to prevent condensation inside the tent due to better insulation with the ground. Looking at the water inside the roof this morning, I have my doubts. Camping; grrrr... But makes regular trips away affordable!
Better than hostels too, sleeping in a dormitory is something I won't be doing again after spending 5 years doing it at school. Never, never, never!

It depends on the time of year, as I have had an entire dorm to myself for several days before in a London Youth Hostel (YHA at Holland Park).

....... Ok, so it was November/December and it was feckin' freezing, but..... Still, at least it was cheap!!
