I lost my motorbike @Brandane lol ,mind you id been on a pub crawl and forgot where id been.

i often lose stuff for a while, i rearanged all my garage a while back...why did i do that? The auto pilot is now useless , i have to search

I forgot my car once! I only live about 5 minutes walk from our town centre, so normally the car stays at home while I walk into town. On this particular occasion though, I had been out of town with the car so decided to park up on our Main Street to pick some stuff up on the way home. As I arrived back home, for a moment I was shocked to find that my car wasn't parked outside the house. I had walked home .

This is so true, more so currently, we have lived in our current house 32 years but have decided to sell (hopefully) Mrs P has set about going through the house & dispatching 32 years of clutter to the bin. She did our bedroom the other weekend which resulted in me standing on our bedroom with no trousers, my 'work' as in gardening, car/bike repair trousers have always lived in the bottom of the wardrobe. Could I find them, could I hell, they have now been re-located to the bottom draw by the window where the jumpers have always been, arrrrrrrrrgh

That's a bit like me. I get used to where things are...... Only for someone to move it, meaning that it takes me ages to get used to where it is now.
It is funny, but even if something is moved to somewhere nearby, then it buggers things right up because I keep going back to the old place before remembering where it is for quite a long time after

For the love of god, just LEAVE things where they ARE!!

By the way, good luck with the move, I don't envy you!
Yup, done that.

Has anyone else ever lost their car in a multi-storey, climbing levels to find it with increasing anxiety when you'd actually parked it one level beneath where you started looking?
The first time I ever visited Elland I parked my Guzzi on a side street. The street sloped, and had a tower block on the right hand side. I went to the shop I intended to visit and returned to find the bike missing. I rang the police to report it. Ten minutes later a cop turned up and I explained what had happened. He gently walked me to the next street, absolutely identical in size, slope, view, and with a tower block on the right. And a Guzzi.

Sounds like my standard 'I knew where it was, but then I decided to put it somewhere sensible' - recognised shorthand for 'so I have no idea now and we'll probably never see it again.'
I've already started looking to buy another one.

Pens anyone? I used to search for my favourite pen all the time, a Pilot V5, until I struck on the wizard wheeze of buying them by the dozen.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pilot-Liqu...UTF8&qid=1468806335&sr=8-11&keywords=pilot+V5

I scattered then evenly over my entire domain, the kitchen, the living room, the van, at work, my bike rucksac etc etc. Surely, I would never be at a loss for something to scribble and doodle with?
Nah. They are all hiding. I may have to visit Amazon for reinforcements.
