When I put a countdown sheet on my fridge for when it arrives!!!!...........my credit card that is, so I can buy my new Roadie!!!!! When I was thinking about selling my car to buy a new bike......the Mrs wasn't impressed, she needs it for work . When I bought a £50 "Springer" for my MTB so I could attach the dog lead to it and cycle with my Alaskan Malamute rather than "walking". The list goes on!!!!!

This is intended as a fun thread, to warn beginners of the pitfalls ahead! Feel free to post as many examples as you like.

For me, it was when I was choosing some lager in the off-licence, and decided to spend extra for Stella Artois because it's Belgian, like Eddy Merckx.
When you tell yourself, just one more!

Last Sunday, as I was tumbling over the bonnet of a car, and my second thought was, "This is going to hurt."

My first thought was, "There's no way my bike will have survived this."

I was right - on both counts.

Think I may be going obsessive.

I'm not a weight weenie but today whilst having my hair cut I was thinking about the weight losses from removing the hair whilst also considering aerodynamic improvements.

When I started going out for hilly 50 mile rides in the Pennines at weekends and thinking that was a short ride. I was made aware I was being obsessive by my non cycling friends who told me I was "mental"
