Picked up the new road bike yesterday, ordered some A520's.. Fitted them today but made sure to weigh the old and compare with the new..

When my bike cost me £175 but the accessories for it are probably around the £250 mark...

There was a time, long long ago, in a lifetime far away, when I used to go out doing silly things like time trials and unofficial 100 mile races to the south coast and back from SW London ....
I thought it was pretty obsessive then, but I could only afford one bike so it got stripped down to change it from commuter to what now would be best described as Audax, and I checked I'd got all the dross off it by - yes - weighing it on a spring balance.
Don't go there any more - I can still do the distance (nearly) but my average speed is halved and I don't think reducing the weight would restore much of it!

Well I was going to post "When I realised how depressed I'd got not being able to cycle in to work for 2 days".. Read previous posts and remembered the polyester cycling shorts, tights and jersey I bought last Friday..
And the ultralight innertubes I've got coming in the post.. To go on the Mavic wheels I'm hoping to win on eBay.. Speaking of which, fingers crossed SWMBO doesn't find out how much I spent on a saddle on there..
I think I'm a lost cause..
