We were given a fondue set five years ago and it is has never been taken out of the box.

Even if you don't like cheese fondues (neither my husband or children do, but we had Swiss friends when I was a child so grew up having fondues), what about chocolate fondues.... my kids love those.

Be honest now, who due to this thead has not googled Lakeland Plastics to check out their wares?

I did and was shocked to realise that it's just Lakeland. They've got a shop in Beverley, and every time I go past I stare longingly in. They have a strawberry shaped food bin! Polka dot themed baking range! Animal shaped whisks! Seriously, who doesn't need that stuff?

Ultrasonic rodent repellers to persuade the family of squirrels not to live in my loft. The f****ers are up there disco-dancing right now.

Poison them...

...seriously. The chap next door was having a bit of a makeover on his house, and discovered that it needed completely rewiring because squirrels had eaten the insulation on all the wires in the loft.

Guess which wires they decided to chomp through... the ones going to the ultrasonic repeller.

We also went as far as to buy a trap - which they avoided like the plague. But for some reason they seem to have left... we also put down chilli powder since they aren't supposed to like that. Luckily they seemed to have decided that they have done enough damage and upped and left... but I still worry about them coming back.

I'm a Lakeland fan too. Yes, some of their stuff is a bit unnecessary, but they also do some really good stuff.

One of the people I sit near to at work today announced he was going to get a toastie maker. He thought I was being unreasonable when I laughed and told him he would use it for a fortnight and then never again.

He says he's definitely going to get one. Just wait...... I'll report back in approximately four weeks
