I think this needs a much better explanation than I'm understanding (if thats ok?), sounds much more interesting than just buying a car that doesnt fit in a space?
It might help to know that Dell doesn't do cars, but Dell does buildings.

So, when Dell installed a ramp which didn't work (to précis), it didn't directly affect Dell (being the owner of neither an S Class nor a Cavalier) but it did affect his client.

Marrying my ex!

Ditto!
I had £17k in savings, my parents gave me £15k to add to this as a deposit on our house.
A year later hubby walked out on me... On contacting the mortage compnay i found we had, a 100% mortage, we'd not paid a penny deposit & we were 3 months in arrears!
He aslo left another £20k in debts in joint names for items I had never seen.. a car & a home entertainment centre.
He dispeared off the face of the earth, took 2 years to get divorced in whcih time he was still running up debts in joint names
I made over 20 court appearances to save my house from being repossesed by various companies trying to reclaim his debts, all of which was sucessful - warrants were served to arrest him for fraud & decption.
In all this time his name had to stay on the mortage as I was still in arraers & the Abbey woudn't take his name off until they were cleared!
A year after our divorce, he tried to take me to court for 50% of the house - Which had more than tripled in value from our buying price. The case lasted 6 months & the court/judge agreed he could have his half, but only from what the house was worth at the time he left and minus all the debts I had, had to pay out over the 3 years..
I had to pay him £1k which pissed me off no end, But I did get the last laugh - his legal fees were £7k

Jesus! What a nightmare. What a scumbag. The initial bunk is staggering, but the coming back to claim half just beggars belief. Presumably he does sleep nights, but you have to wonder how.

I bought £30,000 worth of BHS shares the Tuesday before Black Wednesday with the intention of selling at the end of the account period with the expectation that the shares would rise marginally and leave me with a profit of five or six hundred quid on settlement day. Instead I saw their value plummet by £13,000 in less than 24 hours and as I'd bought them on account I had to either find £30,000 for the shares or sell them and find £13,000 to fund the shortfall on settlement day.

I took the £13,000 hit.

In many ways I am glad instant settlement is now in force. It keeps me out of mischief.

Some people are just scum, and unfortunately, you can't choose who you fall in love with.

Lost £10k on an extension to cowboy builders. Taught me a valuable lesson - never trust anyone who steps through the front door doing work, especially anyone in the building trade. Only after an incident like mine will people confide in you about their nightmares, and everyone has a story. One doctor I know had a builder for a bathroom refit that was so shoddy it had to be rebuilt from scratch again. The builder was a patient of hers who used her surgery even after ripping her off!

Architects spend 7 years in training to provide plans that then can get built by any tw@t with a wheelbarrow. The whole system is built for ripping off customers, and since the building trade don't do anything about it, I can only assume they like it that way.

My most expensive mistake was buying a Seat (car shaped object, as opposed to the type of thing you sit on).
Lost £2000 in 3 months on that pile of cack. (bear in mind it cost us £4000)
My thought process was VAG build quality, cant go wrong. Erm, how very, very, VERY wrong of me!!

You live and learn.

unlucky!! My Seat has been the best car ive ever owned,im sure a few owners of every make of car have a horror story to rell
