So long as you're viewing remote content, it's telly in my book

That doc sounds fascinating. I'll keep an eye out for it.

(edit) ... here's a link if anyone's interested.

Oh, please do. It's quite absorbing about what they went through to get some shots. For example, the scene where you first see Nemo & his crew performing an underwater burial is on screen for about 5 mins but actually took 8 days to shoot.

Just started watching Game of Thrones on DVD which I got for a birthday present a few months ago. 3 episodes in, it's okay but not sure what all the fuss is about, so hoping it gets better.

...
No, but the more you watch, the more it numbs your brain.

I didn't get beyond episode one.

Just finished Narcos 3... If Pablo Escobar series were a good 9 this was a very good 8.
Really enjoyed it..there's a lot more sub titles but that seems to make it more real..

American Horror Story is back! Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson stole the show, predictably enough. It's started as a political satire which is a bit of a departure, but if Roanoke is anything to go by it won't stay that way.

'Tribes, Predators & Me' - the first two episodes were about shark and crocodile hunting in the Pacific. A DNA test suggested that I am about 6% Melanesian with some Polynesian, which is indicative of Fiji. It's probably right because I kept seeing people with the same nose and cheek bones as me.

Levison Wood's trip through the Caucasus to Iran on C4. Really enjoying it.
I've been watching that as my mother's family originated somewhere in the Caucasus. Unfortunately there was nothing that I could identify with, it seemed like a completely alien culture and environment.
yes it has been very interesting, what a stunning part of the world, would love to visit or better still cycle through, fantastic open mountain countryside, but it does seem to have huge problems with islam (as in isis), and this on top of what a whacky place russia is means it is probably not the place to visit.
It looks absolutely amazing and I'd love to go there. The Food Program on Radio 4 last Sunday was about Georgia and it's just made me want to go there even more.

I can't make up my mind about The Mist either. But I've only watched one episode so I've really not given it enough time.

Quite like it, but I can't see how it's going to have the impact of the film. Probably the most devastating ending I've ever seen.
Yeah - it needs to become its own thing really, but then, I suppose, I'll complain that it's not "The Mist"

I'm consoling myself by luxuriating in the scenery on "Montalbano" (iPlayer) for now, anyway - a curious series that seems, at times, quite twee, until the lurking shadow of the mafia, or corrupt politics affects that week's case. It's like Bergerac with occasional deep menace, or something. The fellow who plays the title character, and his young assistant are both very good.

It is surprising, how few cars there are. I think Montelbano must have the only car on the island.

Gotham S3 (Netflix)
Although I've watched previous seasons, I've never really binged on Gotham - it always seemed a little too keen to foreshadow the "big" villains of the Batman universe, and I found Fish Mooney one of the most insufferable screen villains yet to grace my screen. S3 has toned down both aspects though (at least so far) and is proving to be pretty good.

The Trip (S1 & 2, Netflix)
I really enjoyed this - some decent chuckles in the interplay between Brydon and Coogan, and wonderful scenery and food. Something for everyone ;)

Watched Strike: The Cuckoo Thingy and whilst enjoyable....

...it seems completely implausible that the bloke what done it and got away with it, would then hire a private detective to re-open the case in an attempt to pin the blame on someone else.

...i think the writer shot themself in the foot.
