I thought Top of The Lake was very good, though it did have an unusually high ratio of characters you wanted to poke in the eye and say 'Oi!'

(I don't think it'll be in the Resources Box at the Australian tourist office. Most of the coppers seemed like throwbacks from about 1974.)

Finished up with Defenders last night, it's good - not as good as Daredevil S1 though and some really amazing (I'm sure) choreography is lost to some really dark lighting in the final episodes.

Not sure how to score it 7/10? Liked the drama but I dunno. Maybe 8/10?

I'm afraid don't know which character you're referring to, Reiver, in both instances. Poldark is old-fashioned tosh full of subtle unpleasant stereotypes, but I recognise that loads of people love it.
Poldark is left wing sponsored anti capitalist propoganda.

American Gods - just binge watching it this week - read nothing about it before hand and had no expectations. Very well made, love the imagery and imagination that's gone into the production design - worth watching for that alone... its visually stunning. Well written and acted... great tv!
I'm glad you said that, i only got 15 minutes into the first episode and switched it off as it just seemed wrong, too many depressingly vile people, then I heard others say it was quite good and I began to regret not watching it, sometimes I struggle with stories unless I can find someone good and wholesome to like in the plot (I mostly like pretty little feel good stuff like poldark , which I guess is very different to top of the lake.)
I had high hopes for it after the first episode ...i'm scratching my head at john the monkeys review ..as would most people id think..
Yes there was some good acting ,but its what they were acting that was just rubbish..and i thought the ending was poor, even tho its obviously been left open.
The next series will be avoided so that's that.

We enjoyed the first 2 series of Poldark ....we only watche 2 episodes of series 3 as its just boring now.

Just getting to grips with Season 3 of Narcos on Netflix.
It will be interesting to see if it can hold my interest now that Pablo is out of the story

I just watched the Passo di Gavia from Ponte di Legno climb on The Col Collective (Youtube), nodding and smiling as I recognised some of the landmarks from when I climbed it on the 25th of June. What a lovely climb that was (except for that damn tunnel).

Yes, I watched it recently and enjoyed it too. I hope there's more of it coming.
