Started on Crime season 2 last night,so far so good.
Also watching Love and Death the HBO drama based on a true life event of murder.I won't give anything more away in case somebody wants to watch it.Love Jesse plemons the actor in it and Elizabeth Olsen is amazing ! In fact great cast all round, definitely worth a watch.

Yes we liked Love and Death too.
Can't believe it's set in the 80s. If have said the 50s from the opening few minutes.
Interestingly there's another version of the story called Candy but I don't know what channels that's on.

Cuddly Ken is Back!...the 'Thats' channel are repeating the Kenny Everett Video Show he did on ITV from '78-80.
The BBC stuff was a bit watered down but I love seeing his ITV chaos again complete with the camera crew laughing.
It does carry a 'this show was made during a time with different attitudes' warning, but its nice to see Sid Snot & Captain Kremmen once again - love his spaceship being a 70's cassette player. Ahhh....childhood memories!!. It was mandatory viewing at school for us back in the day.

Currently watching 1990 (1977), Edward Woodenward stars as a subversive journalist in a dystopian Britain trying undermine/overthrow the oppressive bureaucratic government. Enjoyable if you like that sort of thing. Just started on the second series.

Sounds intriguing, if only we knew where and when it's on.

It was all done in the best possible taste. 😂

Watched "The Long Shadow" episode 1 last night off catch up
Second is on tonight

Pretty dark - but then the subject matter ain;t funny!

Also seems to be a roll call of damn good British actors - hardly a scene went by without my wife saying "Ooooo" he/she is it is as well!
(personally I have no clue - I recognise then but have no idea who they are or what else they have been it because I see the character and not the actor - so that sort of conversation is normal in our house!!!)

I binged the whole series last night. Now on the one hand it is a fine retelling of the ripper story, it captures some key parts of the story such as the police obsession with the wearside jack tapes and the absolute fear that spread amongst women at that time.

But, we were promised a show that focussed on the families of the victims, and whilst it does focus on some victims and survivors there is too much focus on the police investigation. The failures of the police investigation are well known and whilst they are not to be ignored and the show itself is supurbly acted it's a missed opportunity for what they were aiming for I think.
