Britain's first spy network. I'm pretty sure that every king, wannabe king and proficient warlord used spies.

I think, according to this programme, it was the first properly organised one. A blueprint for the spy networks that exist today.

Monday 30th

'Traffic Cops'
I'm sure that the scooter-rider crashed at Stillingfleet, I recognised the 'lock-up' garage in the background, I'm sure that's where it is (between there & Naburn)

'Wednesday'
Okay, I'm a bit behind the times with it, but I kept meaning to start (even though I've seen a lot of clips on YouTube)
I watched the first two episodes

As An Aside; a few weeks ago. my daughter heard 'Goo Goo Muck' on my spotify (when in the car with me)
She asked if it was due to its use (& being written........!?!?) for 'Wednesday'
When we got home, I dug about in the attic, into my vinyl & found 'Psychedelic Jungle' & 'Off The Bone', as it features on both LPs (1981, & 1983 issues, respectively)

Can you elaborate?

I'd be pretty sure that the program has a vested interest in making it sound far more mysterious than it actually was. He died in the Bunker. His pals were frantically trying to pretend they weren't Nazis after all. He didn't escape.

It was the WWE Royal Rumble on Saturday, I didn't watch the whole event just the rumble itself.

I know it's scripted but this year's event seemed even more contrived than normal. There seemed to be a lot of piped in (fake) crowd noise, especially for the countdown chant itself. There weren't any real big surprise entries which was disappointing and though the story of Gunther going the distance (but not winning) was good it wasn't enough to save the match for me.

First off forget Hunting for Hitler, he may have got away, he may not it will never be proved, there are people who say they saw him after the war, again unprovable, he supposedly killed himself, but there are holes in that story too, the interesting thing being that the FBI, KGB & MI6 had agents on the ground actively looking for Hitler right into the 50’s, but despite allegations of Martin Bormann dying in Berlin, he got away to South America, as did Mengele and many others, indeed they found immigration records for many high ranking Nazi’s into Argentina, stored in a house in Argentina, including for Josef Mengele, there are proven rat lines via Austria & Italy, replacement passports provided by the Red Cross, assisted by the Catholic Church, they seem to have had a plan to attack the US, probably with an atomic bomb, with some plans turning up regarding an attack, these are all taken from released, previously secret documents from the US, Britain and the former Soviet Union, there was a manufacturing plant on an island in an estuary in Argentina, that was making radioactive parts for a bomb, it was blown up by the Argentine Airforce, iirc in the 60’s under instruction from the government, there are remains of a bolt hole in the Argentine jungle, fully self sufficient and very well hidden, where Nazi era items have been found including photos, plates, coins, medication all from Nazi Germany, there was also the Colonia Dignidad camp in Chile which was run by Germans, and was like a German enclave crossed with a work camp, where they were making conventional weapons, it seem like a Fifth Reich was very nearly a reality, probably stopped by the fact that Juan Peron died and the Fascist Regime in Argentina ended, it’s very complicated and a good watch

Just started watching Benidorm (again). Bloody hilarious stuff (apart from the last 1 or 2 seasons but anyway....).
Also started watching Betas - meh - it's ok, just stupid wasting-time kind of stuff.

Our Flag Means Death on the iPlayer.
Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby (along with a host of Brits) pirating on the high seas. Very amusing.

From 'Z-Cars' to 'Star-Trek : The Next Generation'

As I'm presently reading one of Brian Blessed books (Absolute Pandemonium), I've got to the section about Z-Cars, so I had a look at episodes on YouTube
There are at least three links between the 2 series
No, as far as I'm aware Brian Blessed was never in 'ST:TNG', although he did indeed go into space, as Vultan, in Flash Gordon

Link 1; Patrick Stewart & BB, met in the late 50s(?) on an acting course at Mytholmroyd (west of Halifax, along the Calder Valley) & have been firm friends since

Link 2; BB & PS both appeared in 'I Claudius' (no idea, if ever in the same scene?)

Link 3; Whilst watching Z-Cars, I looked at one of the actors (Jeremy Kemp, as PC Steele) & thought he looked very familiar, but rather younger than the link I was mentally making
A bit of 'wikipedia' browsing confirmed my thoughts
Jeremy Kemp played Rene, Picards older brother in the episode 'Family', where Picard returns to Earth after being rescued from the Borg Collective

PS, as the ‘Harlequin’

My parents lived on the Brazil, Paraguay border area in 1950s. The area was solid Nazi territory. My mother was once offered a cake on a swastika plate. She passed on that but did inform various embassies of the presence of high ranking nazis. They said that they knew but had more important things to do.

Servant - I've watched the 1st 3 series and I'm now waiting for the final episodes of season 4. It's been kinda clever how it's rejigged itself and added plot elements just to extend its life, and it's generally speaking decent enough entertainment without being (or making claim to be) anything cerebral. It started as a kind of supernatural/psychological drama with a good few wtf happenings but has shown (in series 4) worrying signs, for me anyway, or morphing into a reliance on CGI to create the wtf-ness... but, overall, worth a look.

Big Sky - I really shouldn't like this but I do. It's plot is shot full of holes and it's robbing cliches left, right and center but it all kind of hangs together.
