Watched all 3 episodes of Crossfire; BBC's new drama.

Bit lame - gunmen run amok at a holiday destination.

Keeley Hawes, usually pretty good, played an unconvincing ex-police officer.

BBC doing its usual OTT inclusion thing with a very disparate set of holiday and relationship match-ups.

4/10 from me and 6/10 from Mrs SD.

Okay to watch if you are bored on a rainy day.

I'm halfway through Dahmer, and I have to say I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

My partner tells me there was a bit of a tizz online from people finding Dahmer sexy, and while Evan Peters is a good looking chap, his serial killer energy is unreal and totally offputting. Like, sure in American Horror Story he's often cast as a deranged killer, but he's still hotter than the sun because these are fictional characters, not a real life psychopath.

I suppose I could understand if you didn't know the story, and they'd started from the beginning, but the first episode is him getting caught and by the end of it you already know he's a child molester. So anyone who thinks he's attractive after that is clearly a wrong 'un themselves.

I thought the online tizz was because it IS a real story, and the victims' families found it upsetting. AmIWrong?

There was an element of that too, although only from one of the families (I believe).

But there's not a chance they won't have been at least consulted about it being made. What level of consent they gave before the studio was like "Look, this is just a courtesy to be honest, we're making it, so whatever" I don't know.

I mean, it's public domain, there have been numerous films, shows and books about him (there was even a musical...). True crime is hot right now, and like it or not, that's how the TV/film industry works.

I enjoyed Katie Pirie and was particularly impressed with the casting; everyone in the present day and their younger counterparts from 25 years ago just looked right. Even the adopted daughter of the dead woman had a look of her mother. I wonder if they were all related?
