I just can't get on with that, as with a lot of Taika Waititi / Jemaine Clement (Conchord were great though!) stuff. I know that style of humour is what some like, it is meant to be a bit, um, purile - but it just doesn't work for me. 🤷‍♂️
I love the WWDITS movie... but the TV series just didn't work for me either. Not sure why as both have the same sense of humour, which like mine, is lame.

I've actually had more time than usual to watch TV. It has been difficult to find something to watch without becoming bored.

The best has been a re-watch of Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss. Excellent show, very enjoyable. I have watched it through twice before though.

The Gift - a Turkish show dubbed into English which seemed promising at the start, but six episodes in and I'm bored silly. Mystery and supernatural.
Immortals - another Turkish show (coincidence) that got switched off after 5 minutes. Vampires apparently, but I didn't get that far.
Hanna - an American show with a British lead with a German accent. The first two seasons were great, the third seems to be nothing new. I'm trying to stick with it as I would like to know what happens next, but it is hard going. Spying, assassination and conspiracies.
Titans - I'm watching this as I type. I generally like the superhero stuff, much preferring DC to Marvel. Half an hour in, I'm enjoying it.

My issue is I can never just sit and watch the TV. I get bored sitting still unless the show or film is exceptionally good, has fully caught my attention and is making me engage. I tend to do other things while watching. Such as posting on CycleChat

Colin in Black and White is worth a watch even if you're not aware of Colin Kaepernick's story, and perhaps particularly if you are.

Programs such as this (and Maid, which I think I mentioned earlier) are effective in reshaping your thinking as to what an -ism can look like. We (as in we privileged types) sometimes don't see - or refuse to see - the wood for the trees.

I hadn't realised they'd even done a 2nd series. Will have to keep an eye out for it :okay:

Recently been watching Doom Patrol (series one)... superhero type stuff... very surreal, somewhat silly but watchable.

Yes, I watched season 1 of Doom Patrol. I seem to remember enjoying it. I'm still working my way through season 1 of Titans and enjoying it. The multiple plot lines keep it engaging. I hope season 2 is just as good as well as the upcoming season 3 which is out on 8 December.

Watched the three-parter Unforgiven by Sally Wainwight last night. As with all Sally Wainwright's stuff that I've seen, it's just head & shoulders above any other domestic drama of recent years. No-one else comes close in portraying life's - and people's - ambiguities. Had me shedding a tear at the end, and I don't. I just don't. Impeccable.

Resurrecting an old post to agree - Sally Wainwright is a superb 'people' writer. I'd not seen Unforgiven and so gave it a watch - and it is very good indeed. It was only brought to my intention because it's been remade as a film (with Sandra Bullock)... and the review I read panned it!

Foundation - binge watched it. Very very slow paced Sci-Fi.

Hawkeye - - enjoying this and ties in nicely with the Marvel story line

Star Trek Discovery Season 4 is out.

Sadly, it's no longer on Netflix, nor is the back catalogue as it's moving to Paramount + in 2022, and we don't get it in the UK until then.

Plus side, Amazon Prime has the season for ÂŁ19.99.

14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible - 10/10

I know 10 is a bold score, but this documentary about Nims, and friends, efforts to climb the 14 mountains over 8000 feet in 7 months is absolutely unreal.

He's a great presenter and an unreal athlete. His enthusiasm is infectious, the obstacles he overcomes are mind blowing but never overstated, the cinematography is beautiful.

Watch it. You won't be disappointed.
