Succession series three 😍

My wife and I we’re a little late to the party, had to cough up and buy the first series on Amazon Prime, but worth every penny. Best television I’ve watched for a long time. Fantastic on every level. Fantastic cast on top of their form, not a duff one amongst them, astonishing and horrible characters, truly brilliant script*, very high production values, superb filming, fabulous locations.
Very funny, very dark, brilliant. It really is a must watch.

*Series creator is a Brit, Jesse Armstrong, the fellow behind Peep Show, and involved in In the Thick of It and In the Loop. Half the writers and producers are British, too.

Squid Game - a handful of Battle Royale mixed with a couple of spoons of Hunger Games, a pinch of Rollerball and lots of kimchi make for a great dystopian, brainless TV. 5/5
Im on ep.5...its wierd, really wierd, over acted and poorly dubbed....but its kinda immersive.
Its like you know you shoudnt watch it, but cant help yourself.

The Expanse - hard sci-fi, with action, politics, religion and some entertaining characters. Similar maybe to Battlestar Galactica (which I never really liked). Not bad at all, especially reluctant detective character. 4/5

The Expanse - update - after 1st season it takes a nosedive and becomes a rather silly kind of show with lots of flat characters and virtue signalling.
2/5

Away - it could be good.... but it's not. The focus is often wrong (for me anyway) There's a decent enough story in there but aspects are over egged and/or sentimentalised to the point of distraction.

Temple (Season 2)

A little slow to start down the rabbit hole (but so was season one, if I recall) but the hole is getting deeper, darker and dragging more down into it.

Mark Strong's performance and Character are great, but I find it it hard to believe that (in relation to the wife and daughter characters) that someone could be so selfish and ungrateful - although, maybe that's the response the writer wanted from the viewer

Nick Knowles' Better Homes... a home DIY show focusing on storage solutions. Absolutely dire! Sh!t solutions, vague DIY guides and a presenter who picks up a jigsaw, calls it a jigsaw, then calls it a router, then back to jigsaw

"What we do in the shadows" - series 3. So good. The whole series on iplayer but I'm rationing myself.

I just can't get on with that, as with a lot of Taika Waititi / Jemaine Clement (Conchord were great though!) stuff. I know that style of humour is what some like, it is meant to be a bit, um, purile - but it just doesn't work for me. 🤷‍♂️
