Loving the third (and sadly final) series so far. The group of core characters has been split up but it feels as though a reunion and final showdown is on the cards. Eva Green is absolutely fantastic, in fact all the performances are but she treads the line between vulnerability and menace brilliantly. Patti LuPone as Dr Seward is an interesting one too.

I'm digging out all the classics they've pulled characters from for a reading marathon when I'm done.
I've downloaded but not started watching series three yet.... but I'm happy that they've decided to keep it to three series rather than trying to milk it for everything it's got before we lose interest, wander off and the plug eventually gets pulled. I also punched the air when i read that the next series of the mostly excellent Orphan Black will be the last... and was overjoyed that they didn't do a second series of Hemlock Grove because it was only going to go downhill.... and I pity the fool who started watching Prison Break... just give up... he's only going to keep ending up back in prison just so he can break out again, over and over again.

Watched (at my sister's bidding) the three-parter Unforgiven by Sally Wainwight last night. My PVR had managed to cock up yet again and failed to record Pt2 ('computer says no') , but fortunately I found it was available online, so managed to fill in the gap. As with all Sally Wainwright's stuff that I've seen, it's just head & shoulders above any other domestic drama of recent years. No-one else comes close in portraying life's - and people's - ambiguities. Had me shedding a tear at the end, and I don't. I just don't. Impeccable.

Anyone watch Eden on Channel 4 last night?

I suspected it was going to be a poor quality 'Big Brother in the woods' rip off, but once I'd got past the trendy people with non-jobs waffling on about "energy" and "going on a journey to discover themselves" in the first 15 minutes it was quite good. And I'm not sure yet if the "explorer" bloke is for real or if they've just put him in there to wind everyone else up.

Definitely worth another watch next week.

NB - was a bit shocked to Google the show afterwards and find out that the "remote wilderness" is actually just a couple of miles from a village with a pub, bakery and a chip shop!

Just watched 'Diesel Brothers' recorded from Discovery channel

Sort of a 'Fast n Loud', but with pick-ups and bigger beards, plus some great pick-ups, if entirely unfeasible for UK roads (too wide, too high - on military truck axles)

'F & L' is okay, but Richard (Gas Monkey garage owner) is beginning to gall, but Aaron's okay
Much prefer 'Sin City Motors', to 'F&L' especially their 'apprentice'

Is it not just a rehash of Castaway? I've got it taped, but it does look exactly the same. Hopefully it won't launch another Ben Fogle onto our screens.

There are a lot of similarities, there is no getting away from that given the premise of the show. And Ben Fogle tweeted about the show last night, according to this morning's paper.
It's worth a look based on the first show, but it remains to be seen if it will be with investing a years viewing in.

Just watched it and I reckon that's a fair summary.

Not sure it'll be dragged out over a year, we're already 5 months ahead so they must be just about done by now?

Spotless
Series on Netflix about a Frebch guy in London who has a business cleaning up crime scenes who gets drawn into helping some unsavoury characters. Good overall, the odd rediculous plot hole and unrealistic situation/dialogue but nothing to spoil it. Some great character acting and dark humor. I'd give it 7.5 out of 10.
