Every episode of every season of the X-files is currently being shown on Spike (Ch. 31 on Freeview). They are about half way through season 2 at the moment. Have managed to record them all so far and watched half of season 1 - got to keep watching to make space on my recorder as there are over 200 episodes and they won't all fit on. Despite it being popular, I didn't see it when it used to be on about 20 years ago. Good series, although does get a bit "samey".

They take up an entire shelf in my living room. VHS box sets are bulky!

OK, so Peaky Blinders is really good. I hope there's some Tom Hardy in the next series, his character lights up every scene he shows up in.

After catching up with that, it's back to s4 of Orphan Black for me.

Just watched the series 3 finale of Line Of Duty.
Does TV get any better? Fantastic script, brilliantly acted - if this doesn't win a hat full of BAFTAs I'll eat my hat.
In fact, it was so good I'm seriously considering getting Netflix so I can watch series 1 and 2...
I thought series 1 & 2 were better than series 3 which probably puts me in a minority if this and other Line of Duty posts are the consensus. I did think series 3 was excellent, but me and my Mrs felt the finale went a bit OTT for pure dramatic effect, which seemed to make it a bit far fetched. Someone else downthread mentions something similar with it getting a bit Hollywood when DC Fleming is hanging onto the truck. Would definitely recommend 1 & 2 though if you haven't already seen them.
I thought the Jimmy Saville bit was brave, and the reference to Yewtree slightly risky.
I was surprised they stuck so closely to actual events / operational names, but why not maintain some accuracy when confronting real issues? The other close link to actual reality was the grossly obese councillor (Cyril Smith?) named Dale Roach (the horrible exposed dirty pervert former MP for RochDale).

I don't watch the box much but today arranged my evening around the Leaders Debate including setting up laptop to Agree or Disagree with the speakers via 'the worm' and sat down to enjoy. Then I woke up just as they were rounding up at the end of the prog..

I thought the hanging onto a truck scene was more realistic than if she managed to catch up by simply running.

Amongst other things, I've been watching The Five... not sure if it's average or pants. One scene is slick, the next clunky. Sometimes they can act, sometimes they really can't.

It occurred to me on re-reading the thread that, oddly, most of the thrills in the last episode came from the two interrogation scenes, rather than the action of the climactic scene.
