Surprisingly good "Tales of the Unexpected"-alike, made for CBBC. Obviously, they can't overdo the over scares or gore, so the key to whether their tales chill or not is in the concept, for the most part. One episode in, I'm quite impressed - there are bigger budgeted, longer running horror anthologies with more leeway in what they show that don't do as well.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
He's British-Iranian.

The Persian form is Davood.

It's the same name as David. Just like Andreas, Anders, André, Andrea and a dozen other things are the same name as Andrew.

Sounds intriguing.

I like stuff made for the teen audience. They tend to be more focused on telling the story rather than delivering a handful of tired old cliches.

[edit] if you can dig them up from somewhere @John the Monkey , the Dramarama 'spooky' season is worth a look.

They were one of the most highly qualified bands, i think they all have degrees, and one phd.
In fact i would be interested to see if there are any other sucessful bands with such highly qualified members.
Genesis maybe? They were from Charterhouse.

Thotch all went to Stowe, didn't they? ;)

Just watched the final George Gently - not bad, but he covered a big patch didn't he? I realise that to the BBC 'the North' is everything above Watford, but his patch seemed to take in Newcastle, Durham and Middlesborough, with the 'dodgy' developers talking about building a bridge over the Humber to link to London...

Gunpowder - I've just found out that Father Gerard was actually imprisoned several years before the gunpowder plot took place. He also escaped over the wall by himself, instead of being sprung by an accomplice.

I'm surprised they didn't have him wearing blankets and smearing excrement on his walls.

If you liked the fly-on-the-wall police comedy documentary "Operation Good Guys", you will love Channel 5's series "Borderline", which follows the Border Force in a dead end minor airport. It is now the 2nd series, but the first 2 episodes have both been good, and it is easy to pick up even if you are new to it. Some great glances to camera in awkward situations. Some characters are more farcical than others, but there is some really fine understated comedic acting in there, and it always makes me chuckle - even after a bad day at work.
