What TV are you watching?

The new series of Dave Gorman's Modern Life Is Good-ish last night, nice surprise as I hadn't realised there was a fifth series.

Since last night was the most scariest night of the year, i watched three episodes from Dramarama's Spooky season (ITV, 1983), namely; War Games with Caroline, The Exorcism of Amy and The Danny Roberts Show. Then possibly the best episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Wish. And finally, Ghost Watch from 1992... the 'live' mocumentary paranormal show that supposedly got some 30,000 confused, concerned and frightened watchers calling the BBC in a single hour ... i shat myself.

Well if its anything like past Attenborough docs, they won't make it seem all rosy.

I will never forget the segment on the polar bear who was starving and couldn't find prey because of the melting landscape. Watching it swim and swim was pretty gut wrenching. There was also the snow leopards troubles with its shrinking habitat which is getting worse because of us. Its probably because I remember the polar bear segment that I was actually hoping the Polar bear would manage a kill instead of wanting the walrus to escape. The whole walrus segment was alluding to the damage we are doing though I don't remember if he specifically mentioned it.

I think we can be pretty sure the problems the coral reef is going through will be mentioned too.

David Attenborough explained that rising sea temperatures made it harder for the walruses to find safety on an ice float. At one point their fate looked sealed, as the mother cradled its pup in the sea – but thankfully they finally found refuge

Queen on tour 40 years ago. Goodness me, weren't they awfully posh boys!

They were one of the most highly qualified bands, i think they all have degrees, and one phd.
In fact i would be interested to see if there are any other sucessful bands with such highly qualified members.
Genesis maybe? They were from Charterhouse.

I watched some prime time Saturday night efforts for the first time in a while.

I don't understand dancing particularly so I can't judge that harshly beyond the following observations:

Davood is not a name.

Why are there odd clown people?

Is that guy's hair real or just a weirdly racist joke?

Why hasn't that guy buttoned his shirt?

And then I switched to X Factor, where apparently not being able to sing is cool.

Finished Preacher series 2 , hard work after the first series, been watching an odd episode every few weeks.
Strange ,weird ,but i felt the need to watch it, i'm none the wiser for doing so.

delving through archives again... this week it's been The Krypton Factor; a shoddy old quiz/endurance show from the 80s. Big tashes, big perms and 'Deidre' glasses... and one rather young Steve Cooghan in the observation rounds.
