if you want a nice boost of energy then do it what ive done before.

Cook 100mg white long grain rice, while boiling add some sugar and stir it up. Eat it with white bread, this is literary a carb bomb but not too filling (at least for me) also carry with you some granola bars etc energy drink might come in handy but there is nothing better like good ol water to keep yourself hydrated
100 mg would only be a few grains of rice - I think you must mean 100 g!

My secret ingredient for the perfect porridge - ground almonds. You can buy it from Lidl/Aldi or Asian supermarkets. Don't be tight and add at least a tablespoon, more if you wish. It gives a smoother porridge that also tastes better.

I also add sultanas and a sprinkle of desicated coconut or cocoa (chocolate porridge, mmm).

As long as I breathe, I attack.
On a club run one winter one guy had the bread and butter pudding with custard , bet his stomach was like lead

For 30 miles i would only take water but everyone different , maybe a flapjack, small bar of something if you need it .
On a club run a cake + coffee is normally enough for me on a 60 miler after a good breakfast as discussed unless its the fast group and i might need something , i like the soft and fruity nutri grain bars but i have a collection of gels from a high 5 sports pack to use .
