I ate nothing in the mornings till a few weeks ago and I'd say it makes a difference. Have to eat about an hour before I leave though otherwise it comes back up on me. Have also discovered that tuna for lunch gives me tons of energy to get home.

Glass of orange juice to help me wash down my multivits, then a 10 mile ride to work. Have muesli once I'm at my desk. I've done that since 2006 (although it was cornflakes instead of muesli in the early years), with no ill effects!

Six miles should be easy to do without breakfast. I'd worry more about feeling tired in the middle of the week. That's not down to lack of breakfast, since you are eating when you get to work. It's more likely to be down to simply pushing too hard on the commutes. Back off a little, give your body a chance to recover by taking it relatively easy on some of your commutes - taking a minute or two longer will barely be noticed, but will leave you fresher as the week goes on. The tiredness is actually stopping you from building up your fitness because your body can't recover.

Personally, I have breakfast after I get to work. I prefer to get in early than waste time in eating before leaving the house.

I set off for earlies 2 or 3 times a week (my shifts vary randomly), leave about 7.15am so I'm eating about 6.50am. It's 9.25 miles by the most direct route, which I always follow at this time of the morning.
The night before I prepare a bowl with a Morrisons saver wheat biscuit, a handful of Malted Wheaties (Morrisons own brand Shreddies), a handful of Saver Bran Flakes with added Saver Sultanas and topped with Choco Crackles. Sometimes also have some Wholewheat muesli in there as well.
This gets me through the commute, which I usually push a bit cos I'm late having dawdled, and on to lunch or at least a mid-morning cup-a-soup.

Porridge and blueberries for me for my 3.5 mile commute...hey, I'm fat and nearly 55 with a lifetime of neglect, I'm doing OK. Just started biking in August but love the commute through traffic and parks.

Porridge and a cup of tea, then fruit when I get in. Commute is 15 miles each way, so need a feed before I set off else I get to tempted by bacon sarnies from the local deli!
