(although it was too loud for her and she had to remove her hearing aids )
It was loud, but the volume wasn’t so much a problem for me as the clarity. Even with both my hearing aids in, I missed a lot of dialogue. My wife, who has no hearing impairment, had the same experience.

So many movies have awful sound quality these days.

I agree - I have same problem.

(Mumbling friends cause the same issue. I ask them to speak more clearly but all they do then is mumble loudly... Clearer, not louder, please!)

Ferrari 4/10

Disappointing, dull, lifeless. After the first 15 minutes of boredom, I thought it might be a slow burner but it never did develop any momentum.

The best performance was by Penelope Cruz as Laura Ferrari.

I figure that movie was created in reaction to the other movie: Lamborghini.

Planet Of The Apes (1968)

Best of the whole bunch for me a good 9/10. Another one out this year I think, bet its not a good as the original.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, out in May. I think the reboot series has been excellent so far, miles better than that horrendous Tim Burton effort from a few years back!

Brokeback Mountain - 7/10

Lovely if heartbreaking story, but I do find the endless scenery shots a bit tiresome.

Mumbled dialogue is often brought up on this thread and the TV one, Brokeback sets a high bar.

I feel terrible for you Andy - those are two of the three USPs of the movie!!!

Re: Scenery - I'm definitely glad I saw it on a big screen. Would it make a good Secret Cinema?

The Crow - 6.5

Peak goth classic, with one of the greatest soundtracks ever. Pretty standard tale of revenge elevated by some great performances and brilliantly dark aesthetic.

Chicken Run : Dawn Of The Nugget
Watched it over the past couple of evenings

I didn't even know it existed, till someone at work, told me he'd been to see it at a cinema!
Nice to see (hear) Miranda Richardson back, as Mrs Tweedy

Some info: Miranda Richardson was not too old for the producers but Julia Sawalha was. They replaced Julia as she was 'too old' with Thandie Newton who is only 4 years JS's junior.

@Adam4868 - as another Saltburn viewer, what do you make of this?

Personally I don't think it's cool, because inevitably people will trespass and it's not like the film didn't show loads of the place!
Lol....mad that it's actually a private home !
I'm in two minds if I think it's ok to be honest, they must have sort of known the possibility of people wanting to see where it was filmed.Maybe open the doors to paying guests ?
Stick Sophie Ellis Bexter on the gramophone and have a cloakroom attendant...😁
