No Country For Old Men (again) the wife is still disappointed with the ending.

We have a local Strava segment called "No Country For Old Legs" that lives up to its name.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
We also watched "Good Vibrations" on BBC - an account of Terri Hooley, a DJ, record shop proprietor and impresario who is a central figure in Belfast's punk rock scene in the 70s. This is a near perfect masterpiece of a film. Fantastic acting from Richard Dormer as Hooley and also a superb Jodie Whitaker as his wife, ably supported by an excellent cast, including a host of presumably local non-actors as the various punk rockers. This is an astonishingly good film, with perfect cast, superb craftsmanship conjuring up a time and a place...
I have a friend coming round for a meal tonight. That sounds like something we would enjoy on post-meal TV. It is available on iPlayer for another 8 days.

I assume that is a typo? (Unless there is a spoof film that I haven't heard of!)

I might watch that again sometime. I have watched it twice already but it has been a while since the last time and it is a good film.

Quadrophenia.

A bit crap really. Seeing a 1979 Capri mk2 in the 60s was almost as weird as seeing Lesley Ash without a trout pout.

3/10. It hasn't aged well.

Are you mad, it's got Toyah Wilcox in it?

Oppenheimer....wow ! Ok I'm obviously going to be a bit biased as love Nolans films but this was slightly different for me.Moving away for his usual messing.with time.Stunnimg and harrowing to watch...i shed a tear or two at the horror of it,Im soft I can cry at films ! Definitely worth almost three hours of your time, the soundtrack is to die for too, literally 😁

Conspiracy.
Injured US army vet Val Kilmer uncoveres dark conspiracy in small Texas town. A poor remake of Hollywood classic Bad Day at Black Rock. Also takes inspiration from Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey and the Bandit.

I didn’t like the ending the first time I watched it because it’s so unusual for a film to just fade away. But on second viewing it is perfect.
Who wants a happy ending, life isn’t like that. So he just retires and leaves the problem for someone else to deal with.

Not far off a10/10 film

I'd assumed this was about the Beach Boys. I might still watch it though, given this glowing review. (needs more Emily Blunt, but hey ... )
