Yes Elephant man is a good film in a tragic way....couldn't say I'd want to watch it too many times though ! A difficult enough watch.Impossible not to be moved by it !
Mullholand Drive tolerable 😁
But that's as far as it goes for me sorry...I'm a picky customer !
Maybe Lynch is like Picasso (and Jazz)... everyone knows it's sh!t but daren't say so for fear of being considered naïve or ignorant :shy:

Just watched Uncharted with my 10year old son. He’s a big Dominic Holland fan.
It’s a cross between Indiana Jones, National Treasure, Da Vinci Code and Goonies.
By any measure it’s a silly film for adults but young boys will love it.
The 12a certificate was unnecessary. Dispense with the occasional S words and it should be a PG.
2/5 for adults 4/5 for boys.

House of Gucci. :tired:
I quite enjoyed it for the 70s and 80s fashion and overall vibe. I'm not sure I got much from it, but then I'm not sure I was supposed to. It was full of things I half remembered from the time like the battle over Paolo Gucci's attempts to set up his own fashion label using the family name, and of course the murder case.

The main thing I remember was coming out of the screening and wondering aloud to my partner "where on earth did they find an 80s bespoke Gucci motorcycle helmet and goggles?" closely followed by harrumphing that Adam Driver got to drive my teenage dream car (the Lamborghini Countach), although I might still be able to afford a slightly more modest Porsche 924 as driven by Jared Leto as Paolo.

Titane - slow mo car crash you can't stop watching. Utterly bonkers and dumb, porntastic exploitation of chicks, cars and some closeted firefighters. 1/5 and I DO recommend to try it.

Almost a history lesson last night ... watched Nicholas Nickleby the 1947 version.
Starring Sir Cedric Hardwicke b.1893 and Dame Sybil Thorndike b.1882.
Not sure the kids would like it. They think The Matrix is 'well ancient'.

Well that was some wierd shıt. Sex with a fire engine, murder, breasts expressing sump oil, trans-dressing. Sounds like a Jeremy Clarkson wet dream. And in French!

Your 1 out of 5 wasn't wide of the mark but then again 5 out of 5 wouldn't be either. Doubt I would watch it again though.

Paddington It's a movie I've been aware of as having good reviews, being enjoyable and lighthearted etc. It cropped up on tele last night so I thought I'd give it a go. It's cute and there were some excellent gags and subtle, 'blink and you'll mess them' lines - but I'm afraid I lost interest after around 1/2 hour. There's an awful lot going for it but maybe not enough to sustain it?
