A police officer joins a force of other dead police officers who are hunting a group of undead criminals trying to bring about the apocalypse, utter turd.

Somehow this gets 5.6 on IMDB, it gets 2/10 from me.

The Omega Man.

Much better than the poxy remake, I Am Leg End. Charlton Heston plays the lone human survivor driven to the edge of madness by the lonliness and the stress of trying to evade the zombie like zombie things. He-Man Heston hat his finest, tense plot. The scenery etc is very much of its time, but doesn't detract much from an otehrwise very good watch.

8/10.

Star wars - Rogue One.

Beginning to flog a dead horse a bit. The good news is that the plot is credible and well written, and ties in very nicely to the original film, which was itself renamed Part III when George Lucas needed to buy a new condo. A bit too much action, not quite enough politics and intrigue. However, great to see Darth Vader throwing his weight around and doing the chokey thing again. His use of the force against the hapless rebel guards was the highlight of the fillum.

6.5/10 - Not the best, but closer to form that the Noughties trio of movies.

Central Intelligence.

Comedy thriller. Little discernable plot, and what plot that does exist is little more than an excuse for Dwayne Johnson to ponce about in unfeasibly tight T-Shirts to show us all how swole he is. And boy is he swole. Of little interest to anyone except drunk gym buffs who want to see how unfeasibly big Johnsons shoulders a and delts have become. Not an utter bowl of tripe, but its real 'nothing-else-on-tv-last-resort' material.

4/10.

Hanna.
Saw it a few years ago but I have a propensity to forget stuff so enjoyed watching it again.
The baddie, Tom Hollander I think, played a blinder, a very Clockwork Orange kind of nutcase.

7/10 for me, good stuff.

Yeah i enjoyed that too, seen it a few times... although Eric Banna's attempt at fight choreography is the worst I've seen outside of Children's TV.
7/10 for the film.
0.3/10 for Eric Banna

I watched Blade runner 2. It was. not altogether a bad film, but I wish they had not made it a sequel to Blade runner. The director's cut was perfect. I did not want to know if Deckard ran off with Rachel or shot her.

Eat Locals - a budget British "comedy-horror" that somehow manages to be not quite as bad as it sounds.
Directed by Jason Flemyng, it stars a lot of people you'll recognise (Dexter Fletcher, Mackenzie Crook, Freema Agyeman, Ruth Jones, Annette Crosbie), some of whom I can only presume needed the money. Worth a look if there's nowt else on.
5/10

Spider-Man: Homecoming - another rehash of a superhero story that's been rehashed too many times already. Surprisingly ropey CGI at times (again) and a plot that makes bugger all sense and like virtually every Marvel film ever it's too long. Even Robert Downey Jr can't save this mess. Bring back Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. 3/10

For A Few Dollars More - a proper cowboy movie. Clint doing what Clint does best. 9/10

Hurricane Heist - a "Sky Movies Original" (also available in a multiplex near you). Once you've got past Finchy from 'The Office' and his wandering Oirish accent, a surprisingly decent film that passes an hour and forty minutes in no time. 7/10

Aftermath.

Schwarzenegger has a go at a dramatic role, and does fairly well. OK, he ain't no Olivier, bit he makes a fair fist of it and brings some surprising sensitivity to the role.

Alas, beyond the basic premise the plot is a bit weak, and the film is a bit of a bore. A wasted opportunity.

Reversal of Fortune - Jeremy Irons as the rather sinister but somehow irresistible Claus Von Bulow in the true(ish) story of a haughty German aristo accused of the attempted murder of his drug-addled (and now comatose) wife. Dershowitz (his lawyer): "You are a very strange man." Von Bulow: "You have no idea." Irons's deservedly Oscar winning performance keeps you constantly on the back foot, Glenn Close provides sterling support.

Went the night before to Isle of Dogs: enjoyed it, and it's certainly 'different' - which is always good - but I wasn't entirely convinced. There was an awful lot about it that was very well done, but none of the characters seemed fully developed, and it seemed to me to have too many loose ends - ideas half-explored then discarded in favour of a new bauble. Lots to like, but not an unqualified triumph.

Doing the physio last night I saw NowTV had American Ninja. I was up for something mindless that was turned down by Chuck Norris.
Amazed to find out later that Michael Dudikof is now 63 and sad to see Steve James died at 41. I didn't realise how long ago that film was.
