Shin Godzilla (one of the Sky Movie channels - can't remember which) - A Japanese film with English subtitles, most of which pass too quickly to read.

Filmed in a semi "Cloverfield" style - the monster is delightfully crap, but you hardly see it at all

The story starts with a deserted boat, then an underwater road tunnel collapsing.

A meeting is called in conference room A, several obvious things are said and it is agreed they will call a meeting in conference room B. At the meeting in conference room B, it's decided that things are hotting up and there should be an emergency meeting in the incident room. In the incident room, it's decided that there should be a special meeting of parliament, at which it is decided to get the SDF involved. Several discussions take place between the meeting in the SDF command centre conference room and the people in the parliament conference room. It is decided to get some marine biologists in, who decide to set up in another conference room......

That was just the first 10 minutes of the film.

1/10 - avoid like the plague (unless you actually have the plague - in which case, we could set up rapid response unit in conference room D)

Rambo III.

A real tear jerker, with performances worthy of Oliver and Brando. 11/10.

I like your review, but not your conclusion, I thought it was the best Godzilla film in a long time!

How far would you go to protect your family? Keller Dover is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, Alex Jones, but a lack of evidence forces his release. As the police pursue multiple leads and pressure mounts, knowing his child's life is at stake the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family?

Very good, plenty of tense scenes, a couple of twists, some hints early on that don't make sense...

Down by Law - excellent performance by Tom Waits (who also provided the drop dead appropriate musical soundtrack) in a beautifully (b/w) shot languid Louisiana jailbreak movie. Wonderful to look at, enjoyable to watch.

Ghost Rider.
Lots of shot of ...cleavage... Nicholas Cage looking ...cleavage... glum and playing a bloke ...cleavage... with nothing to say ...cleavage...
There was something ...cleavage... else very distracting in this ...cleavage... film, something to do with ...cleavage... one of the main characters, but I can't ...cleavage... work out what it is.
Mindless fun, a basic plot and all very obvious with 'make you jump' snarly faces : 4/10.

Finally got round to watching Little Voice on Sunday night... certainly not as good as people made out, all those years ago. average/10
As a film I'd agree, it's nothing special...but Jane Horrocks's impressions are stunningly good. doncha think?

A Quiet Place. It’s 2020, humans are the prey of alien monsters that hunt using sound. It’s a refreshingly short film, only 90 minutes but the tension runs throughout the film. 10/10

Agreed, it's a genuinely brilliant film. The commitment to the concept was amazing. My only criticism is the couple of ridiculous cheesy moments, but I assume Michael Bay was responsible for them and everyone else involved just rolled their eyes and let him crack on.

The Hollow Point.

Gritty, and oft times grisly, crime drama about a hick town sheriffs attempts to stop ammuniyion smuggling from Arizona into Mexico.

Surprisingly tense, the slight blip being Ian McShanes dodgy american accent, but the rest of his performance is brilliant.

8.5/10.
