MontyVeda

a short-tempered ill-controlled small-minded troll
Brimstone (2016)... well made but blimey it's grim... and only gets grimmerer.

City of the Dead (1960)... more like Village of Dry Ice, but very watchable for a vintage witchcraft thriller. Daft ending though.

Giant. A Spanish film with English subtitles on Netflix. The story of two brothers, one of whom keeps growing hence the title. It is set in 1850 in rural Spain. His height is so tall that he makes money by doing exhibitions in many countries. The film is a bit too long I think but quite moving.

Logan - 8/10

I wasn't expecting a great deal from this after the hype around it, and superhero films aren't really my thing, but this delivers on a lot of levels. Mature themes, genuine struggles and superb lead performances. Hugh Jackman is becoming one of my favourite actors, despite that Australia disaster, which managed to put me off Baz Luhrmann as well.

Finally finished watching Transformers 5.
Not much else to say. They killed off Anthony Hopkins so it goes down to 3/10.

No country for old men.
I had never seen it before despite hearing lots of good reviews. Very impressive film, the ending caught me by surprise, but rewatched it the next morning without beer and understood it better.

Leaway2

V for vengance. Excellent film and with the current revelations about data slurping, phone hacking, the press in the hands of tyrants, perhaps even more relevant. Big brother is watching YOU.

Fantastic documentary film from Mike Dion.

When I noticed the initial word, for the title, I thought it was the Edna Ferber book, adapted for film, with James Dean

Sadly, daughter & I never got the chance to see either of these at the cinema, so I bought them today
She, like many teenage girls has a thing for Chris Hemsworth, I'm hoping Jaimie Alexander is in it, as the Lady Sif

Whilst quite sceptical about the casting of Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, compared to Christian Bale, I'm growing to like him in the role
