A giulty pleasure of mine last night, the Neon Maniacs.Hardly any plot worthy of note and some cringe making music but i love this movie.Ok FX for a budget film.It makes no sense whatsoever but somehow i appeals to me.

Last night on BBC iplayer I watched 'Sleep Tight' a subtitled Spanish horror film.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_Tight_(film)

Well worth watching, but only available for 2 more days on the iplayer.
the little program get_iplayer is rather useful at getting around the time quoters the bbc put on things. but you do have to suss out how to use it. the easiest one is simply to put
get_iplayer "insert html code from you web browser"

so get_iplayer "http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01pykjq/sleep-tight" will then download the file to your machine in mp4 format for you to watch at your leisure....

Edit: probably not legal btw!

Watched Rec 4 Apocalypse last night.I enjoyed this despite what some reviwers have said.It takes place after part two but mentions part three to keep eveything in balance but without the nonsense of part three, going back to being a serious horror flic as the first two. Also worthy of note is this movie is not the found footage as the others have been but as a normal movie viewing film.If you get my drift.

there's an easier way* (less to type) just using --pid and the PID (in bold above)

*just realised after all this time that i can 'paste' in to it, just not via the keyboard shortcut.. this is the method i've been using

get_iplayer --pid b01pykjq

(note the spaces)

and if you're getting a radio show, put --type="radio" on the end (which apparently works for getting HD programmes by putting --type="hd" on the end, but I've never tried it.)

back to the topic...

Last night i continued my homage to the late great Daevid Allen by watching Gong live at the Uncon, Amsterdam 2006... bloody brilliant.

Stop At Nothing - The Lance Armstrong Story

If you've read David Walsh's Seven Deadly Sins don't bother with this film, you'll learn nothing new.

If you haven't read the book then read it instead of watching this, you'll learn a lot more.

5/10.

Sleep Tight, after the recommendation above - jesus, that's pretty disturbing.

The Hunter
An odd, quiet little thriller with Willem Defoe and Sam Neill. I thought it was very good.

PID only works if it has catalogue the program and I have had too many failures.
I just copy and paste using the Ctrl+C from the address bar and by clicking the top left icon (it is an icon honest) in the cmd windows, then edit & paste from the menu system. apologies for not pointing that out, I work in IT so sometimes forget the obvious shortcuts.

Put in full in case anyone else does not know.

Wanted. What a load of tosh. What a waste of time and money. What a classic illustration of how even cracking special effects, serious acting talent and a virtually limitless budget can't make a worthwhile film out of a crap script.

Wild Tales - Argentinian portmanteau of very darkly comic stories of mayhem and revenge, the first of which is wince-inducingly prescient given a recent tragic news story (I'm not giving anything away here, as the pre-publicity rather strangely described the plot). Hugely enjoyable film nevertheless.
Saw Kermode review this - looks interesting.
