The Whale and the Squid. I forgot I had already seen it. It wasn't much better the second time round but that's not to say it was bad. I kinda liked it as I'm a Jesse eisenberg fan. He was great in the social network.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I tried to watch a spike lee film. Sone of Sam. It was so bad, I had to turn it off after only 10 minutes.

I just watched episode 1 of season 4 of Haven, and the season has started in impressive fashion. Haven is definitely one of the better TV series around recently.

Spike Lee makes 'joints' not films, because he's cool like that.

He made a couple of excellent films in the early 90s, and has been trading off their success ever since. His bitch fest (about Flags of Our Fathers and Iwo Jima) with Clint Eastwood was embarrassing and for me he lost all credibility with his remake of Old Boy.

Dredd , so much better than Stallones limp version.
...but is pretty much a remake of The Raid: Redemption.

Last night i watched Krull... I remember going to the pictures to see it as a kid. It has some dreadful SFX and a star studded cast including 'im out of New Tricks, 'im out of Emmerdale, 'im out of Grange Hill and Eastenders, 'im out of Taken and Darkman and 'im out of Cracker and The Comic Strip... oh, and 'er out of Three Up Two Down.

Is the game of thrones (ok it's a series not a film) worth staying to watch? It started whilst we were out of the country i think so haven't really watched it.

Yes. It's an absolute belter of a series. The books are well worth a read too.

Neil Marshall (a favourite of mine) has directed two episodes which are televisual epics.

Which is now being remade in English for no reason at all.

Comparisons between Dredd and The Raid are inevitable, though I'm not sure they are entirely fair. Without them, I reckon Dredd would be considered up there with Nolan's Batman as an excellent modern take on the original comics.
I think the similarities between Dredd and The Raid are too close to be coincidence... and for the record, I think Nolan's take on Batman is utter sh!te
