VE Day, there's going to be a spike. No spike. Bank Holiday, there's going to be a spike. No spike. BLM demo's, there's going to be a spike. No spike. Beaches packed today, there's a pattern and next weekend will fine too. My fears for the 4th are that it's a Saturday and I wish this could be changed even at this late stage, as much as I like a good time, hearing what is planned even in my small social range, I am having second thoughts about going to Leeds, it's going to be absolutely crazy.

It is going to be 'Spike Central' everywhere, off and on for months!

I will be taking Mrs 73 to work for yet another NHS rapid response shift on the Covid ward this is way from being over.

Big thanks to Mrs 73 and all her kind.

Deserving of a break soon.

Once all this has all calmed down, maybe those of us who have been working time and a half throughout this pandemic can be given an extra couple of weeks off, at tax payers expense ??

Ha ha ha, hollow laugh.

There needs to be a new word invented for when the alerts in our phone remind us about some exciting event we had planned that is now cancelled.

I had a couple of trips calendered that haven't happen--no big deal in the whole scheme of things of course - - but still personally dissapointing.

So what I've done after that time period has elapsed is reminisce about previous trips as if they had happened in that time slot instead.

Kinda weird mind game to play on oneself maybe??

But I think it helps a bit with the whole, "All this shall pass, and there will still be good things in the future" mindset - - a bit..

True. My cancellations have been OK but he's had two international youth tours cancelled already plus a national championships. It's looking like another 2-4 national championships and another tour's going as well.

He's a 2nd year Under 16 and this was an opportunity, like other's who should have been doing GCSE's, to travel and race afterwards. Instead he's Zwift racing.

My phone constantly alerting me to cancelled gigs. Both for myself and for the youth brass band I work with. It’s the kids I feel sorry for - for 9 of them, it is their last year. For them it should have been a summer full of playing solos and making memories.
Who knows when we will be able to rehearse and perform again? Also, the traditional brass band audience tends to be over 60. Will they want to come out and listen?

Yes, so much dissapointment, for so many.
It's going to be a defining time for many.

"What did you do ?? Or miss out on ?? in the pandemic ??"

Hopefully some good will also, come out of it too, and your young musicians will keep playing together into the future..

At least they are audible from a good distance. :okay:

I'm definitely going to give 'Super Saturday' a miss. The tabloids are bigging it up saying it'll be like 'lockdown Friday' where the idiots spoilt it for the rest.👎

The reported scenes on Bournemouth beach yesterday were appalling. It wouldn't have been so bad if many had taken their litter home with them, but the amount of crap they left behind suggests they didn't! We even saw images of f..kwits breathing in 'hippy crack' from balloons.

As I said we will all forget about it in a years time and you will go to whichever shops you went to before wherever you thought they were protecting you or not...in the past. I am clearly talking about the future.
And I would appreciate if you didn't read between the lines as you know nothing of me!!!
You could not be more wrong as I have explained to you. I'll go back to my old lifestyle when I deem it safe to do so. If you wish to differently and ignore the lessons we should all be learning that is entirely up to you.
