It took me a few weeks to get used to the riding position on my first road bike but I was pretty old. Also, pulling the brake levers seemed very odd after a straight bar bike. My only advice would be to give it a whirl and see how it goes. Whatever you do, don't despair. Road bikes a big fun.

Might want to check the weather forecast and take a brolley ( and a windbreak). Is the saddle off an old bike or new. That may well be the issue if not used to it
Think there is a window as far as weather is concerned and saddle is new with bike but only changed my saddle on hybrid a few months ago too so expecting the discomfort from new saddle

I'd do a short loop at the start of the run so that anything that needs fixed can be identified and sorted, and then do a route that has bail-out options in case you get unusual aches and pains if you are not used to the set-up, or the weather turns bad on you. Hopefully, all will be well and you'll get plenty of miles in and enjoy the new bike.

My first ride for 20 years last week was 57 miles on a new bike, I wouldn't recommend it though as my legs were knackered!

The first 25 miles were pretty easy so if you do those sort of distances regularly you should be able to knock off 40+ without any trouble.

Hi,

That is is not a good idea in simply every respect.. Try doing it again. Things will complain miles
before you hit 25 miles, you got the benefit of your body ignoring a one-off apparent effort.

Depending on any fitness you may have from other sports, I normally think 10 miles is a good loop for sorting problems, and not so bad for finding your place on the bike and making necessary adjustments for comfort and fit. Then try something 15 miles, etc. Bring tools and a cell phone. Extra tubes and a frame pump would not go amiss. Better to patch tubes at home, rather than the side of the road. Hybrid should be good background for your road bike. Enjoy yourself!

Due to time constraints and damaging another bike at the wrong time, my raleigh's first ride was a 200km audax. I wouldn't recommend this though (and I had built it up myself so had a decent idea of the set up)

Take a multi tool with you, and be prepared to stop and adjust as you go along. I'd bet it will take you a few rides to get the bike to feel right.

Chapeau !
What did the bicycle shop folks say when you came in naked to pick up your bicycle?

Nothing.
