These take me back too. As above strip 'em, clean 'em [and if you don't replace that includes the cables] and bin those blocks, fit something more suitable instead. If you get 'em set up right they will surprise you as they can be very good.

To the OP, I would keep them, good pads and proper set up, they should be fine.
