Thinking about making prawns and chorizo sausage with garlic, leeks and peppers then adding some single cream, in my slow (but put on high heat) cooker. 🤔
Just checking to see if the prawns are already cooked or raw. I think they're cooked, but best to check.Add the prawns at the last minute, else they'll go rubbery.
I am having a and a Min Spy.
They're already cooked, so yes i'll add them later. We don't want slightly cooked prawns!Add the prawns at the last minute, else they'll go rubbery.

Oh i don't know. I saw some big raw/grey ones complete with head and tail that looked like they'd need a good few minutes frying to make them edible.Even if they were raw, they'd only need a few minutes poaching in the hot liquid to cook them through.

As usual I start off making something simple, but then decide to complicate it. I've just chucked some fresh ginger and coriander in.A minute a side, tops*. I love those big king or tiger prawns. Umm, so do my cats...
No, seriously, prawns are much like fresh sweetcorn - if you overcook it, you end up with something tough and very chewy.
* with butter and garlic, or with a little thai red curry paste...
