Shame the guy is a d!ckhead. For all the metal/alt community is a generally inclusive and broad temple, there are plenty of wrong uns in it.

Yeah, don't know a whole lot about him tbh. I think in certain genres (metal and rap, to name a couple) being a bellend pretty much goes with the territory as you're selling a persona as much as anything else..

I met him once by chance in 94, just as he was getting known, he was so far up his behind he was coming out of his own mouth.

I don't quite buy the persona thing, you have genuinely nice people who are always nice, like Ronnie Dio, then normal people who have their moments, and then idiots, who just happened to make it.

He's involved in a whole bunch of lawsuits (four I believe) for being abusive in relationships.

I'd tend to agree with you though, it can be as much about image as anything. But it really doesn't have to be, as @C R says.

I love a bit of guttural Death Metal I do
None much better then the complete nutter Glen Benton and his band Deicide
(Nutter as in he branded an upside down crucifix on his forehead)
Lets see if you can listen to the song all the way through

love a bit of deicide. the first four albums are where it's at for me but they have some decent material outside of those :okay:

Bit late to the party. Banger though. Seen them a couple times live. Lots of fun. Benton is a bit of a bellend, but then the whole metal scene is controversial so... pick your battles I guess?

I bought a Prong album the other day, which is alright. And a band I'd never heard of, Obey the Brave, who claim to be hardcore punk, but really aren't. You win some, you lose some. It happens.

seen them live a few years ago, was a bit of an anticlimax (first time seeing them) was part of a festival, maybe would have been better in a small sweaty packed pub :laugh:
have never got into Prong but known about them for years. is there one essential / must have album?

Carved into Stone or Zero Days.

Today's random purchase was Beyond Twilight's "Section X", based on the cover alone. Loving it so far.

Gotta agree, two great albums.
