Well done so far with the exercise regime. Keep going at it and it will get easier, and you'll establish a good routine.
Re: fat burn. Not all people can do this, but try cycling (or exercise) first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, i.e before breakfast. You'll burn 20% more fat because your body will burn fat rather than stored glucose, i.e you are using up fat reserves rather than burning off the food you've just eaten. I only drink water before my 30 mile morning rides, and only take on minimal food if the ride is much longer. I pretty much always cope OK, and only occasionally feel hungry towards the end of the ride. So if you are after fat burn rather than performance .... and can cope without feeling faint .... then it's a good tip.

^^This^^ Took me a while but I only do water on training for two hours or less for cycling and swimming. I try and do the same with running but if it's murder I'll have a bit of something. Don't go mad on your food after as well. You need energy but training doesn't counter eating everything which is something I was guilty of for a few years.

I lb of fat weighs the same as 1 lb of muscle. Why can't people understand this?

Actually, it's perfectly reasonable to not understand this, because this is semantics and nit-picking. The same volume of fat will weigh less than muscle. And the exercise method of weight loss does increase muscle mass, so your overall weight loss may seem disappointing in comparison to how you think you are doing.

To really really nit pick, I will say that 1kg of fat does weigh less than 1kg of muscle because it has a higher volume and therefore more buoyancy. Unless you weigh things in a vacuum.

Check out durianriders from youtube, after you have looked at some of his essential videos about eating and moving you are set. What's good about his program is that you dont have to worry about days where you cant get to go biking because the weight falls off even when you dont excercise as a raw vegan. Doing sports will get you trimmed down and is overall good for your health so im not saying dont do any sports  That was just my suggestion, i also recommend reading 80/10/10 if you want to know everything about a raw vegan lifestyle, it doesn't have to be 100% raw in the beginning tho. Search ''raw till 4'' from youtube, it's made by durianriders girlfriend freelea and will help you start.

Harley Johnstone aka ''durianrider'' is also a very good cyclist. He is my biggest inspiration. Go low-fat, high-carb vegan if you want to lose weight without restricting calories. I eat over 700 grams of carbs each day and when i started i didn't even excercise but the weight still kept coming off. Good luck.

Hi Hardplant :hello: . Sorry, have to ask and no offense intended with this question. You've posted links to Durianrider videos on a few threads on this forum. Nothing wrong with that and a lot of people subscribe to his videos and agree with his opinions on nutrition. I know Durianrider is a cyclist who likes cycling forums. Are we in the presence of Harley?

Okay so my names Nathan and I live in Newport wales, im 6ft2 and currently weight 258 pounds, im very over weight and things need to change. I figured writing a thread about how im finding weight loss and fitness might help encourage me via feedback and a general place to vent any my frustrations when not doing so well. Also any help and input from people in my situation would be a great help. So im starting tomorrow, healthy eating and working out 3 times a week, so feel free to give advice or just read along, wish me luck

Hi Nathan! Welcome! How's the weightloss going?

I'm on a similar journey myself, and have blazed 19lbs in the last two weeks. Sort out your diet and build up the exercise.

My stamina has improved dramatically, and I'm now playing a lot more sport, which is one of the goals I set myself!

I've recently started having personal training and am really pushing myself in the gym now.

It will be worth it when someone comments on how much you have lost. People do notice, and it does feel good.

My clothes are already starting to fit better, and I've shed four inches off the waist. Really looking forward to posting some before and after pics and feeling smug when I'm down to my target weight n look awesome...

Kep us posted mate; this is a really supportive place. I'd be really interested to know how you are getting on

Good advice on here. Don't ever waste your money on herb no life. Loads of reps on face book now & most are junk eating idiots themselves trying to cash in on poor people.
