D'oh! Thought I might be displaying my ignorance!
If only I'd looked at the pics and noted the "Outputs Lt. and Rt."

Righto, how's my bank balance?

This ended up in another thread somehow.
Yep you can modify them to be 'bridged' but you lose the safety aspect of them being able to take a dead short with no damage, if however like me you have a pair of speakers with 4 terminals in the back you can (after removing the 'shorting bar' connecters) run one channel to each speaker. You then 'common' the inputs in the 4 pin DIN plugs on each 303 so that you have each amp only receiving a mono signal. This results in slightly more volume (not much though) but more importantly better stereo seperation and hence better imaging and more 'headroom'on the amplifier so it deals with transients better'
I've been running a pair wired like this for 15-16yrs with at first my 33 pre- amp and now a 44

Don't get me wrong a single 303 is very capable but 2 are better

It was probably the memory of seeing your pic that made me think there should have been a pair. ^_^

PS Excellent random thread resurrection!

Garrard 301 turntable in local auction next Saturday morning, this time in the antique and vintage furniture section, rather than machinery and general! No estimate, but expect £500 to £800?
https://www.arthurjohnson.co.uk/cat...saturday-auctions-3rd-september-2022-lot-373/
Also not one, not two, but three Garrard 4HF decks in separate lots, one wrongly spelt as Gerrard. Maybe £100 to £200 range?

Also more vintage gramophones, horns, wax cylinders etc. than you could shake a reasonably sized stick at. Must be somebody's much loved collection, I guess.

I could quite happily live with one of these. Almost vintage?

I’m touring the Netherlands at the moment.
Spotted a shop in Delft with all sorts of goodies in the window, lots of Thorens tt.s, of various vintage from TD124s (€4,500!) upward.
What caught my eye was a fully refurbished Quad 33/303 with a 3yr guarantee for €850 and a rare Philips GA212 tt (I had one of these in the 1970s) for €200.
I was seriously tempted to ask if they’d ship to the UK.
I’m still tempted to return.
They say you always regret the things you never did…

About right for the 33/303, you could buy an 'unknown' pair for about £450 then a full service/rebuild (by QUAD in Huntingdon) would be a couple of hundred each
