Hmmmmm...... That is a possibility. Are you still looking for a new rear wheel? If so, I'd keep the cassette and get a wheel with a freehub.

That wheel looks okay for the price. Just a word of warning before you buy though - freehubs usually have a longer axle than the screw on freewheel type hub. Just measure the distance between the inside faces of the rear dropouts to make sure it will fit.Okay. Just to check with you lot, should I buy this rear wheel then? http://www.woollyhatshop.com/Wheels...mano-8-Speed-Freehub-Black-rim/prod_3408.html
I know it is a hybrid wheel, but I am not going to fork out a stupid amount of money for proper racers when the bike isnt worth that.
Well that is helpful, but what isnt helpful is the fact that the website doesnt have any of that information on there. That wheel looks okay for the price. As it's for a "hybrid" that wheel is likely to use mountain bike spacing which is 135mm. Road bike freehub spacing is usually 130mm and for a screw on freewheel the spacing is often only 126mm.
I hope this helps.![]()

I have just emailled them (they got back to me within 10 mins about returning the cassette).call or the use the online chat on their site
Hmm, not helpful of them. If you get measurements from them, it is the "over lock nut" (OLN) measurement you need.Well that is helpful, but what isnt helpful is the fact that the website doesnt have any of that information on there.
I have measured my bike and the distance between the dropouts are 136mm.Hmm, not helpful of them. If you get measurements from them, it is the "over lock nut" (OLN) measurement you need.
That's ideal - any freehub type hybrid wheel should fit your bike fine. The problem would have been if it had the older 126mm measurement as it's not recommended to bend the stays to make a larger hub fit in aluminium alloy frames. (It over stresses the frame and can cause it to crack).I have measured my bike and the distance between the dropouts are 136mm.
I am having a bit of a better look at wheels now. They are all around the £30 mark. Amazon actually tell you what the spacing is.That's ideal - any freehub type hybrid wheel should fit your bike fine. What size should the spacer be?And if you do go the freehub route don't forget you'll need a spacer behind a 7-speed cassette.
