Like Clint Eastwood.

I also wear a blanket style poncho on the bike, sadly, it seems that many punks do feel lucky on my commute.

Re: Chilli chocolate, I've had the Lindt version of this, and it's very tasty indeed.

From scratch or from a jar/ packet?

As jars go, Discovery's "wicked chilli" is the best of the bunch.

5.45 though? That's a bit odd.

From scratch of course! And before you ask, no I won't be deep frying it!! ;)

As for the quarter to six thing, I have to get all my jobs done before I get the child up as after that it gets far too hectic! I'm sure you can relate to that!

I make a fairly standard chilli but for a change enjoy the recipe I got from Men's Health magazine many years ago.
Slice 1 onion and fry in olive oil.
When nearly soft add 1 clove minced garlic. When done remove from pan.
Add strips of rump steak and fry hard to brown meat. Add tin of drained kidney beans and slightly crush with back of fork.
Add sliced red chillis with seeds, return onions and garlic to pan. Add heaped teaspoon of ground cumin and a tin of drained tomatoes. Salt and pepper cook for 10 minutes and serve with rice or tortllla chips.

why becuase i use baked beans does that mean i work in a school canteen??? they add tom juice and some sweetness

I tend to use baked beans, mainly coz I never remember to get a tin of kidney beans in. For a real 'cheats' chilli, I use corned beef too - for the same reason, I always have a tin in the cupboard, but don't always have minced beef.

Worcester sauce, bitter black chocolate (I must be a gayer, Kirstie!), chunks of beef (lamb makes an interesting alternative, tho' of course not for purists), mixed pulses, beef tomatoes, paprika (lots of), cumin, black pepper (and a tiny drop of tequila) to taste.

And rice.

And tacos / fajitas.

And tequila to drink!

Garlic, in chilli?? That's for Spag Bol.

Essential are cumin and red wine vinegar, together with the correct ratios of Tabasco, fresh chilli and dried chilli powder. Cook it for as long as you can or cook the night before and reheat to get the most subtle flavours to come through

Of course there has to be garlic in a Chilli.
