Eden Project North is being built by the same team that built the original site in Cornwall, it's not a franchise/just trading off the name. And they know what they're doing. That is a terrific place, this one might not be a guaranteed win, but the odds are favourable.

I was being sarcastic :okay:

I love visiting Perth shire. Beautiful little towns , stunning views , even good cycle routes......and then Pitlochry.

Leipzig is a nice town too……..but maybe not your favourite tonight.😂
Welcome back though. And Perthshire is cycling heaven, I must agree.

Coming from NE England, I thought I was used to depressing dumps, including the town I was born in, South Shields, but, the list below either eclipse it, or, run it a close second:

Mablethorpe - A dump of a 1950's seaside 'resort'

Bridlington - as Mablethorpe, above, but, with more charvers

Blackpool - too horrible to even describe

Chatham - unbelievably grim

Hartlepool - dreadful place

Middleborough - or, indeed Cleveland in general, so, including, Billingham, Stockton, armed guard required

Hebburn - no longer a reason for it to exist

Workington - like Whitehaven, below, its one redeeming feature is, it is one of the start points for the C2C Cycle route

Whitehaven - a grade 1 dump, it's one redeeming feature is, it is one of the start points for the C2C Cycle route

Hebburn, totally agree, been there a couple of times when we were at refit at the dockyard. Grim.

was that the A&P Yard?, or, in earlier times ?, not that it makes much difference, in terms of Hebburn being a dump. ;)

Yes the A&P yard, about a 20 minute walk into Hebburn. Come out of the yard and turn right towards Hebburn and there was a pub, the Caledonian I think. Had a few in that dive.

Anyway, it was my very least favourite shipyard to go for refit.

Falmouth was by far my favourite.

Yes, I know both of those yards. Falmouth a far nicer place than Hebburn, but, that is faint praise!

Caledonian has a very impressive tiled exterior.

So you cannot comment on the run down nature of towns nor in the social engineering policies that have led to thier demise?!!

Not at all. That's not what I said. I was objecting to the sadistic glee which SOME sometimes display on this topic, ignoring the very real issues behind the appearance/situation.
And levelling up my arse.
