Deep fried mars bar for the winner?

What I saw of the road race was pretty enjoyable (just caught the Glasgow laps).

Huge names winning and near the medals is a good thing for the World Championships.

The rough idea of that Glasgow City Circuit has hosted 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2018 European Championships, and now 2023 World Championships. I hope we see high level cycling back on the streets of Glasgow again one day!

Barnet,
That was quite a brutal race.
I do think there was a few circuits too many though.
In the end road cycling is an endurance sport and the current four top hard men duked it out in what became quite a treacherous last few laps.
Chapeau MVDP.

As I live close to Edinburgh, i cycled up to see the start in the hope of seeing some of the current pro’s (which I did!).
But I was minding my own business near the start, looked up and walking down the other side of the barriers was none other than 5 times Tour de France winner Bernard Hinault. No one paying him the blindest bit of attention until someone in a loud Northern Irish accent booms out, Bonjour Bernard. He looked over, waved and smiled. Fair made my day!

Mind you, I was too scare to call him over for a selfie, he can be a bit moody lol

Come on Bigham, started well. Dig deep!!

Oh jeez I forgot about the track stuff after the road race.
I don't know how anyone can appreciate all of the events and still have a life ! I must try to catch up. The RR was brutal. A fantastic winner though.

Not fond of numerous circuits like this. I think they should have stayed out in the countryside much longer and maybe just a couple of laps of the circuit to finish.

Yeap glad I only watched 5mins highlights!
No Brits to be seen afaics....
