I knew there was a reason for watching on iPlayer. This is stupid, someone is going to have a serious accident. Brian Smith saying it's farcical having cyclists riding on pedestrian streets in the rain

Most of the crashes haven't been on pedestrian streets and the tarmac has been slippy too. The bad one in the pedestrian area was because the rider on the front of the group locked up, his back wheel came around to say hello and he ended up crashed sideways across the racing line, leaving a dozen followers a choice between the fence or the pile up. It could have happened anywhere. This is stupid, someone is going to have a serious accident. Brian Smith saying it's farcical having cyclists riding on pedestrian streets in the rain
Basically very similar, with one rider off the front and 5 chasing. But this time, maybe inexperience? , the chasers spent too long looking at each other to chase and swinging across the road, so they weren't within catching distance when starting their sprint. Whoops! Well done to Laurance for keeping the power on until the win was secured. The race seems to be in the break -catch -break phase, with GB well represented by Rootkin-Gray and Walker. Will a 5 or 6 get away like in the elite men's race?
