Apologies if this has previously been mentioned but have deliberately not read the thread as I am about two days behind watching all the recordings so don't want to know results etc.

But I am compelled to say how humbled I am by some of the para cyclists, I think it was a Japanese track cyclist with one leg who took my breath away, I swear I couldn't have kept up with him with two legs!

Truly outstanding and got a lot of admiration from me.
I watched that too and was in complete awe but I also thought it was a tad unfair to have him race against two-legged competitors but then again, I didn't know what their particular disabilities were.

And a shout out also to the bloke who cycled with one arm meaning he only had one half of a handlebar, he wasn't hanging around either!

It is always the problem that there aren't enough para athletes to compete on similar disabilities, so the categorisation has to be loose enough to attract a decent field, but tight enough to make it reasonably fair. For example Dame Sarah Storey's disability had so little effect on her ability that she competed against the best in the world in able-bodied cycling, and is a class above everyone else in her field in the para cycling world. But wouldn't begrudge her privilege to compete on a world stage.

Men's Elite TT Friday 11th Aug.

Too many stupid corners and road furniture on the coarse. The UCI must thinking it looks better for the TV viewers, but a better TT coarse in my opinion is straight with minimum corners and minimum road furniture.
