Anyone recommend a bike computer that tracks speed, distance, Ave speed, cadence (if I get a cadence meter)? Not bothered it being a sat navigation type thing to put in routes but would like it to connect to Strava to upload ride. Prefer it not to need my phone for gps signal. Prefer battery life to be Iver 8 hours. Needs to cost less than my bike!
Until I got the Elemnt the Garmin Vivoactive watch worked great. Records and saves rides and with the phone connected it shows texts and calls. I wear it everyday to record steps and for the nerd fashion statement. About $100

Wahoo Elemnt, or Elemnt Bolt. You can have all the parameters you require. You can alter the preference which is listed first or bigger font. This is all done from the phone, a doddle to do. Cheaper than Garmin and easier to use

Looking at UK sim cards, do they all have the same coverage? H2O, Tesco etc?

This page on your phone allows you to drag the data field further up the list
I was looking at the elemnt but wondered if there was anything else out there but guess not (I will have a look at the watch Randy uses). :okay:

Carl I’ve got a garmin 520 I’d let you have for £90 plus postage? Cheapest I can see online is £170ish) It’s got one scratch on screen that you can’t see during use. I can put up some pictures.

It basically does everything the element does but isn’t quite as user friendly. It will definitely be more than adequate for what you’re looking for.

Cons: it’s not as good as the element
Pro: It’s half the price and still very decent kit.

Do you mean O2 when you say H2O? There's basically only 4 UK networks I think - O2, Vodafone, EE and Three. Other "brands" just use one of these networks - so Tesco uses O2 for example. I think they all have pretty good overall national coverage but will be better or worse than each other in some areas

I've got the 520 as well Carl. It does everything I need it to (including everything you've listed as well as navigating me on full day/weekend trips) and the battery life is great.

Yeah it’s a nice bit of kit. I think I replaced it with the element bolt because the bolt is better for setting up and planning routes.

I have a lifeline (wiggle) one like that you can have it for a donation to a local charity if you like. I bought it to mount my Garmin 1000 and Fly12 ... the Fly12 is too long to mount, so I don't need it.

I use the K Edge Out Front Pro mount now ... does the job just fine, but it is 40 quid
