You guys are going to suprise yourselves at how fast we can move in a pack. So long as the weather is in our favour! It's a coompletely different animal to riding solo.

I've just entered. Put yourselves into the 21+ mph group. It's not an obligation to ride that fast. It just means we get put nearer the front. It'll make a big difference on the day. I put down 'VR.CC' as our club name. I don't suppose it really matters though.

As a side note what about 'The Chaingang', or 'The Chaingang CC' as our club name. Completely suck or?...

I've now entered. 21+ mph as per Tommy.

As Tommy says, it is amazing how quick you can go in a chaingang - especially on closed roads. I usually plan to not stop at all on these events - which should be fairly achievable for this distance.

Unfortunately I think I might struggle with this date now I've checked diaries as it's at the end of school half term. Shame as I'd really like to do a closed road event like this and see how fast we can go. I'll update if I think I will be able to get away with it somehow!

Have to say I've not really done the 2 line chaingangs. I've ridden where the front rider pulls over and slowly drifts to the back. Also "pulls" tend to be longer than the few seconds on that video.

I have experienced what is seen in the video, when the conditions and the pace is just about right the group fly along. But like any group ride, if the pace gets too high some or most will suffer even whilst drafting.

There also might be a large group of other riders to draft with initially, we could hang with them if possible
