:blush::blush: Oh dear. How can I say this without looking as dumb as a sack of rocks :unsure::unsure:.

I was over at Richmond Park today with my brothers. Enjoyed the riding but had a few issues. For some reason the indexing had shifted and put the chain over the cassette and against the spoke guard going up Broomfield hill :cursing:. I tried to sort it and thought I had got it dialled back in so carried on riding.

I completed the lap and waited for my brothers to catch up. Whilst waiting I checked the gearing and all seemed ok.

On the next lap, again going up Broomfield, I was aware of the potential issue so was very careful with my gear changes. However I'd lost count of what gear I was in and my adjustments were not quite right so when I went for the last change up to my biggest rear cog. Ooops. Chain over the cassette but this time it jammed the wheel. Apparently my brother following behind thought I'd had a heart attack because I just stopped and promptly did a @bobinski.

Here's where I think our similarities end. IIRC when @bobinski went over he landed on a grass or mud verge. I was not so lucky. Of all the places I could have landed, I end up right in the middle of a patch of stinging nettles :cursing::cursing::cursing::B):B):B):cry::cry:. Both calves and right hand and some forearm are stinging like :cursing::cursing::cursing:.

I'm sitting here self medicating with a couple of the 4 beers I earned today on my ride.

I hope all of you out ITRW have better luck than I today

How’s the bike?
It's sorted and no damamge, I hope, as I'm back over there tomorrow. I went the wrong way with my adjustment by the looks of it, only a couple of clicks on the rear adjuster, but enough to make me look a right @bobinski . I spent about 20 minutes making sure it was dialled in and could not get it to over shift, I shall see if I got it right

If it's falling off the cassette, it is the limit screws not the cable adjuster

That's what I thought initially. But changing the rear cable adjust has fixed it without adjusting the limit screw . I had no issues today riding up the same hill, going to the same gear about the same time. I'll have another look later this week but the saying I work by is "if it ain't broke.........."

No @bobinski impressions today. Just a quick tour and a half for my brother and I. Then a return to the cars . He's is looking at riding to Richmond Park from his home near Hanwell and doing a circuit and riding home. He may do 2 circuits but he's not sure.

He's out and about now so it is up to him to get himself ready for the ToC ride.

Thats why you didnt qualify last year Bob, Grand Fondo events are full of EPO riders, Even the Pros dont race because they are too competitive with drugged up Mamils

A 2015 report by the Union Cycliste International (UCI)’s Independent Commission for Reform in Cycling stated that: “Masters races were said to have middle-aged businessmen winning on EPO, with some of them training as hard as professional riders and putting in comparable performances.”

The report also stated that professional riders avoided Gran Fondos “because they were so competitive due to the number of riders doping”.

Isn't being able to be doped up to the eyeballs one of the perks of not being a pro?
