@bridgy
havent done the long route before and can't help feeling there may be some feeling of regret if the weather is good and i dont bother - though i quite understand people not doing the long route ------- unless they are over 6ft in which case it is essential they do it to stop me ribbing them for ever more

I’ll take my chances. You’ll only find something else anyway! ^_^

Well I'm up and about, as are my brothers. I get the feeling they are not looking forward to today. I've just messaged the group on Whatsapp and the reply was a back of the hand emoji with the middle finger extended .

There is every likelihood that your brothers wont come to the TOC from the mutterings you are posting. Ignoring them, will you be doing it?

Different tires for rough roads? Gatorskins Hardshell 28s?
I'm going from 23 mm to 25 mm and 7 to 6 bar. Continental GP 4000 II S on front and Michelin Power Competition (

) on the back.
Yesterday I did a personal best on my TT test route, so doesn't seem slower even on relatively smooth surface.

I went 12 sec faster with 7 watt less. The biggest change was propably using a rear disc wheel, so that could be the reason for the better efficiency.

I was not shure there would be any benefit using the disc wheel because the route is so hilly and the disc wheel is so heavy, but it looks like aero wins over weight in this case. Since the ToC TT route is less hilly, I will definitely bring a disc wheel if I ever go there again.

Try and stay focused on the important stuff Lars. Like setting a good time around Regent’s Park!

I will definitely be there. They will be pulled kicking and screaming to the start :gun:. After that it's every rider for themselves :secret:

Forgot to do that, thought of it, forgot to get some.

A Mucking Fuppet forgot his crash helmet :banghead:

Yeah that's me

He won the race to the base of the first hill, but not to the top :bicycle:.

Yeah not everything went as planned or expected. Youngest brother is down with something so was struggling even on the downhill. Middle brother was still having issues with his saddle giving him pain. Will have to adjust it slightly more nose up according to him.

Ultimately only did one lap and that was 45 minutes or so for them with some walking . They now know where they stand. Not as good as they need to be. Not as bad as they thought they were. I eventually left them heading up to the Star and Garter as I stopped 3 times already waiting for them.

We're back there next weekend for another go apparently . Hopefully more than just 1 lap

TB well done amigo! The first step is always the hardest as they say. It’s bloody easy to forget things too. Normally with me it’s water bottles. Then when I get back home to retrieve them I realise I’ve also forgotten my keys so I have to wake the family. Yeah... that one always goes down well :B)

Yep left the water bottles in the fridge :banghead:

Lucky was only 2 minutes down the road at my brothers when I realised.

Still managed to walk past my crash helmet on the way out though

Well done tb
But most important - did you enjoy it and have you now got the bikers tan line on your legs
I enjoyed it. But the lady with the Carmen Miranda style hat going past us was not an auspicious start to the ride .

No tan lines though. Not out long enough

My brothers said they enjoyed it eventually. They liked it so much they want to do it again next week.
